Steven Brooks, 25, of Rome was arrested this week for aggravated assault.
According to police, on September 29, 2018, Brooks was in a verbal altercation with his 22-year-old girlfriend when he broke a lamp. The altercation continued and he pushed the victim and proceeded to get a knife from the kitchen.
Brooks then threatened to kill himself. When an officer arrived, he observed Brooks making a stabbing motion towards the victim.
Brooks is charged with felony aggravated assault, simple assault, and criminal trespass.
