Earl Thomas Walker, 49 of Fort Payne, was jailed in Rome this week after reports said he placed meats in his pants and attempted to walk out of Publix without paying.

Reports added that when he was approached by police he gave them a false name.

While at the jail, Walker also allegedly signed documents with the false name in order to hide his true identity.

Walker is charged with theft by shoplifting, giving false name to police and false statements and writings.
