Gordon County Detectives initiated an investigation which led to the arrest of Zachary Steve Burgess, age 26, of Plainville after receiving a report of multiple financial card transactions at numerous businesses this week.

Detectives collected evidence which indicated that Burgess used a stolen financial card to conduct 8 fraudulent transactions. The card was reported stolen from a victim with a reported disability. The amount of the transactions was several hundred dollars in currency and merchandise. Burgess turned himself in to detectives on Wednesday, October 10.

He has been charged with 8 counts of Financial Transaction Card Fraud, 1 count of Theft of a Financial Transaction Card, and 1 count of Financial Abuse of a Disabled Adult. He is in jail pending bond.
