Meagan Drought, 19, of Rome was arrested this week for stalking her ex-boyfriend and for making false statements to police.

On September 3, 2018, Drought allegedly put her ex-boyfriend and his girlfriend under surveillance and followed them with intentions of starting an altercation.

On that same day, according to police, a suspect stabbed another individual during an altercation and fled the scene. When Drought was questioned if she knew the suspect, she claimed she only knew him from an altercation in school. It was later learned that Drought was the suspect’s ex-girlfriend. As a result of Drought’s false claims, it slowed down the apprehension of the suspect.

Drought is charged with felony false statements and misdemeanor stalking.
