Cedartown Middle School’s Autumn Boatner struck out three to end the game, as she and Daileigh Hodgins logged a no-hitter in a 11-0 win over the Darlington Middle Tigers in softball on Monday.

The Lady Dawgs improved to 3-0 on the year after scoring six runs in the first inning.  The offensive onslaught was lead by Reagan Clarke, Kadince Oxenrider, Hannah Cocharn, Boatner and Ivory Boozer, all driving in runs in that frame.

CMS opened up scoring in the first inning when Clarke doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, driving in Abby Reynolds.

Hodgins took the win for CMS after pitching for two innings, allowing zero hits and zero walks while striking out four.  Boatner came in to throw four innings of relief.

Emma Hunt took the loss for Darlington. She allowed 12 hits and 11 runs over four innings, striking out five.

Cedartown raked up 13 hits on the day. Clarke, Logan Little, Abby Reynolds, Ozenrider and Cochran all managed multiple hits.

Shortstop Taylor Westmoreland lead the game with four putouts.

Head coach Tony Potts said, “I was proud of our team today.  We came out strong and was able to get some younger girls into the game. ”

He added, “We have a lot of leaders on this team, I am so proud of each and everyone of them. We just have to stay humble and keeping working on getting better each day.”

Cedartown will take on Rockmart at Cedartown High on Monday at 4:30.  The Lady Dawgs and Lady Jackets are the only undefeated teams left in the region.
