Khaila Sanford Newman, 29 of Ellijay, was arrested at Floyd Medical Center this week after she allegedly hit her 57 year-old husband.
Reports added that Newman then ran from a police officer in an effort to avoid arrest.
Newman is charged with simple battery and obstruction.
