After a nearly five hour standoff at 206 Coker Drive in Rome police took two suspects, Christopher Adam Harper, 32, and Timothy Duane Morgan, 33, both of Rome, into custody on burglary and other charges.
Reports said that police were dispatched to the home after someone noticed a suspicious vehicle in the driveway of the vacant home. When police arrived they knocked on the door and one of the suspects allegedly opened the door, saw it was police and immediately slammed it close.
The suspects then refused to exit the home and as a result SWAT was dispatched
Reports went on to say that numerous items were taken from the home and found in the suspect’s vehicle.
Both are charged with burglary, obstruction of law enforcement and probation violation.
