A stop sign violation resulted in Deryan Tyrek Almond, 21 of Rome, being charged with a felony this week.

Reports said that officers observed Almond allegedly running a stop sign at Crane and 12th Streets. When they pulled him over they discovered that he was driving without a valid license.

While at the jail and being booked authorities stated that they found a hydrocodone pill in his pants pocket, which resulted in felony charges.

Almond is charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance, crossing a guard line with drugs, drugs not in original container, possession of a controlled substance, driving without license and a stop sign violation.
