John Wayne Franks, 46 of Rome, was jailed this week for stealing from and elderly woman and possessing drugs with the intent to distribute them.

Reports said that Wayne took money from an 85 year-old woman with the promise to perform a service for the funds.  However, after taking the money, reports said, Franks never performed for the woman.

The incident occurred back on April 11th.

On Wednesday police said they discovered Franks while he was allegedly driving without a headlight and tag light. While conducting the traffic stop police said they saw a baggie containing suspected meth in a baggie inside the vehicle.

A search of the car led police to find numerous bags of suspected meth, marijuana and other drugs inside.

Franks is charged with theft by deception, exploitation of the elderly, possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of drug related objects, the distribution or possession of dangerous drugs, drugs not in original container, DUI, possession of marijuana, possession of meth, no headlight, and not tag light.

A second person was also arrested, Crystal Marie Morrison, 28 of Rome,

Morrison is charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with intent to disribute, possession of drug related objects, drugs not in original container and the possession or distribution of dangerous drugs.
