Christopher Cody Ely, 32 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said he strangled a 31 year-old woman to the point that she could not breath.
Reports stated that the victim suffered wounds to her neck.
The incident occurred at a home on Woodward Street.
Ely is charged with two counts aggravated assault, criminal trespass, and three counts probation violation.
