James Edward Preston, 23 of Cedartown, was booked into the Floyd County Jail this week after police said he received a refund from stolen merchandise from the East Rome Wal-Mart.
Reports said that Preston removed a hoverboard from its display and proceeded to take it to the service desk where he received a refund after telling the clerk he had purchased it.
Reports added that Preston received a refund of $318.86.
Preston is charged with theft by deception.
