Timothy Daniel Payton, 36 of Armuchee, was booked into the Floyd County Jail this week after police said he lied about a fire to 911 back on June 8th.
Reports said that Payton called 911 and said that a structure was on fire at 622 Floyd Springs Road.
Payton is charged with transmitting a false report of a fire.
