Derrick Wayne Mobbs, 33 of Lindale, was jailed at the Royal Inn after police said he held his wife down when he placed his knee across her throat at their home on Walnut Avenue.
Reports said that the victim suffered a swollen neck.
The alleged incident occurred back on January 8th.
Mobbs is charged with battery and probation violation.
