The Gordon County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation put out the AMBER Alert for Skylee Miranda Aline Morgan age 14, who was reported missing from Gordon County on Tuesday. According to that alert, she was last seen in the vicinity of Baymont Inn near I-75 in Calhoun around 11 p.m. Monday night.

Officials with the GCSO believed Morgan to be in the company of Emily Page Sherer, age 21, and believed Morgan was in “extreme danger.”  A BOLO was issued for a 2017 Subaru Impreza bearing Arizona license plate CAS 2410.

The suspects, the child and the vehicle were later found in Loudon County, Tennessee while an officer was responding to a call of a reckless driver traveling northbound on I-75 in a blue Subaru with dark-tinted windows.

The deputy was told by dispatch that the vehicle had no visible registration and that the vehicle matched the description of an active AMBER Alert.  When officers attempted to pull the vechile over a high speed chase of over 120 mph ensued.

After leading police around several highways and roads off I-75 toward Nashville, Tenn, the car took a dirt road, driving up a hill where it attempted to get away but for reasons unknown, stopped.

In Tennessee, Sherer and Sims-Smith have been charged with felony counts of evading arrest. In Gordon County both are charged with felony kidnapping..

The investigation into the kidnapping continues at this time by GCSO detectives.
