Jamie Quino-Lares, 22 of Rome, was arrested on Sunday after police said he threated to murder a 19 year-old woman before attacking her at a home on South Broad Street.
Reports said that he swung a hammer at the victim in an aggressive manner while in the presence of a 2 year-old child.
The victim was hit in the face during the altercation according to police.
Quino-Lares then proceeded to push the 2 year-old to the ground.
He is charged with aggravated assault. Felony Cruelty to children in the 2nd degree, battery, cruelty to children in the 3rd degree and simple battery.
