Eight people were arrested at a home on Woodcreek Way in Rome Tuesday during the course of an armed robbery investigation. According to police, two black males stole money, a phone, and an Ipad from the victim.

Reports said that the victim pointed officers to a home at 11 A Woodcreek Way to where the suspects could be.

Reports added that the victim’s cellphone was heard by police inside the home and that the eight suspects inside refused to open the door.

SWAT was called to the scene and surrounded the house. A standoff lasted from around 9:50 p.m. Tuesday to 2:30 Wednesday morning.

Arrested were Canice Lynette Chatman, 40 of Rome, Shakila Akia Jackson, 17 of Rome, Tomothy Lamar Chapman, 20 of Rockmart,  Demarco Anthony Farmer, 18 of Rome, Shidell De’aris Millsap, 19 ofRome, Marcus Lee Brown, 19 of Rome, Jacquez D’Anthony Jolly, 18 of Rome, Timothy Lamar Turner 23 of Rome,  and Kylan Kendrell Jones, 25 of Silver Creek.

Every suspect was charged with obstruction of law enforcement.

Jones is additionally charged with parole violation.

Farmer is additionally charged with failure to appear.
