Dante Rishad Edmondson, 26 of Rome, was arrested on Sunday near Callier Forrest for 19 charges after a police chase down East 19th Street and Dean Avenue ended with him being tazed.

Report said that police attempted to pull Edmondson over for a broken brake light, but Edmondson sped away in a reckless manor resulting in numerous traffic violations.

Police stated that a PIT maneuver was attempted on Dodd Blvd, but was unsuccessful.

Reports went on to say that the suspect continued to Callier Forrest apartments, in the process striking numerous curbs.

It was there the suspect allegedly exited the vehicle while in motion.  The vehicle came to rest after striking a dumpster.    Edmondson then attempted to run on foot into a wooded area.

The officer said that it was then he deployed his tazer on Edmondson, at that point Edmondson laid down and surrendered.

A search of his vehicle uncovered three plastic bags of meth, crack cocaine and a synthetic substance and drug related objects.

Edmondson is charged with hit and run, too fast for conditions, passing in a no passing zone, failure to maintain lane, stop sign violation, possession of drug related objects, no seat belt, possession of meth, possession of cocaine, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving on an expired license, no brake lights, striking a fixture, reckless driving, obstruction of law enforcement, attempting to elude a police officer and three counts of probation violation.
