A box of unwanted cremated remains has been turned over to Floyd County Coroner Barry Henderson after its owner refused to take them. Reports said that the remains were found in a storage unit on Rogers Drive following an action after its owner failed to pay the rental fee.

A label on the box showed that the remains belonged to a man who died in 2012.

The winning auction bidder would not take the remains, and as a result a storage unit employee attempted to contact the woman who rented the unit.  Reports said that the woman would not take the call from the employee, so they contact Henderson to take ownership.

The remains were then taken to Henderson at his request.
