Ray Harris Jr, 45 of Rome, was arrested on Sunday at the Economy Inn on Martha Berry Blvd after he was accused of being drunk and attacking a 30 year-old woman.
Reports said that Harris hit the woman in the head during a verbal dispute.
Police said that while investigating the incident that Harris was unstable on his feet while continuing to raise his voice toward them.
Harris is charged with simple battery and public drunk.
