Joy Patterson Phillips, 53 of North Topsail Beach North Carolina , was booked into the Floyd County Jail Tuesday after she was accused of stealing $489,000 from an elderly disabled Rome man back in May 2015.
Reports stated that Phillips stole the money from Denver Phillips , who died later that year.
Phillips is charged with theft by taking an exploitation and intimidation of disabled elderly adults.
