On February 10, 2017, Gordon County deputy sheriffs received a report of an alleged sexual assault involving two assailants against a female under the age of eighteen. Sheriff’s detectives initiated an investigation into the matter that same day. They conducted a number of interviews with witnesses as well as obtaining certain physical evidence. The alleged assault is believed to have taken place on February 4th/5th at a third party residence near Calhoun.
On February 15, Jacob Silvers, age 20, of 140 College Street, Fairmount, Georgia turned himself in to authorities. He was charged with one count of Rape and is currently in custody pending judicial proceedings.
On Friday, February 17th, detectives arrested a second man, Justice Darden, age 19, of 322 Circle Drive, Calhoun Georgia without incident. He was charged with one count of Rape as well, and is in custody awaiting judicial proceedings. No further arrests are expected.
