Denzil Tate Haywood, 18 of Rome, was arrested on numerous charges, including burglary and assault, after he allegedly broke into a home on Orlystes Drive though a front window.
Reports added that once inside the home Haywood pushed the resident against the wall, in the process causing damage to a lamp, the wall and a trophy.
He is also accused of placing his hands around the throat of the victim in an effort to strangle him.
Haywood is charged with criminal trespass, battery, first degree burglary and aggravated assault.
