Over 25,000 chickens were killed in a fire that destroyed a structure on Floyd Springs Road Saturday night. Reports said that fire officials were dispatched to the blaze around 7:30 and fought it until the early Sunday morning.
The chicken house is owned by Alan and Deborah Ray, who is quoted to say that the house was just filled with the animals last week.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
