Suspect Arrested after Attacking Man and His 4 Year-old Child

Bobby Ed Phillip Smith, 34 of Rome, was arrested this week for an altercation that occurred on October 29^th of this year.  Reports stated that Smith hit a man in the face, resulting in visible marks and breaking his eyeglasses.   Police added that Smith then shoved the victim’s four year-old child to the ground.

Reports added that the child suffered bruising from the fall.

Smith is charged with battery, cruelty to children and probation violation.
