The Shorter Hawks men’s soccer team won its second straight game and remains undefeated in Gulf South Conference play with a 2-1 victory over the Christian Brothers Bucs.
Darwin Lom began the scoring in the 3rd minute of the contest, as he scored an unassisted goal, his fifth of the season, which gave Shorter a 1-0 lead. The Hawks (3-4, 2-0) lead did not last long as the Bucs (4-5, 0-3) found the equalizer in the fourth minute.

The Bucs took the first three shots of the second half but it was Shorter’s Mauricio Rancel who broke the tie, scoring the game winning goal in the 60th minute. The Bucs had chances to find the equalizer late in the game, but both attempts were blocked, and the Hawks left Memphis, Tennessee with a 2-1 victory.
Austen Trevers made three saves in goal for Shorter, while CBU’s Ricardo Lao made one.
The Hawks look to make it three straight victories when they host West Florida on Friday, October 7. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. from Rome, Georgia.
