Timothy Bryan Cormier, 33 of Athens, was arrested near the Kroger in Rome over the weekend after allegedly using stolen credit cards to make numerous purchases.

Reports stated that Cormier made a $1,570.85 purchase at Kroger on the morning of September 28th.  Later that day he returned to make purchases of $108.98 and two others for $105.95 at the store.

The cards belonged to Exceed Landscaping of Dallas, Georgia.

Police stated that he was spotted the near the store over the weekend and when they approached him he ran to avoid arrest.  He was found hiding from police behind on the riverbank behind TJ Maxx.

A search of Cormier uncovered a syringe and needle containing suspected methamphetamine.

Cormier is charged with felony financial transaction card fraud, three counts of misdemeanor financial transaction card fraud, obstruction of police, giving a false name and date of birth to police, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug related objects.
