Wesley Bowman, 32 of Rome, was arrested in a bathroom at the Kindred Hospital after leading police on a chase.

Reports stated that officers were called to a home on Shorter Avenue after Bowman kicked a door in and began cursing at a woman and a child.

Reports added that when the child attempted to stop Brown she was struck by door.  Bowman then threatened to choke the child and proceeded to throw her to floor.  During the altercation the child was injured and as a result sent to Floyd Medical Center for treatment.

Bowman then left the home and later showed up at Floyd Medical Center. When he was spotted by officers he ran, where he later went into the Kindred Hospital and locked himself in a bathroom.

Bowman is charged with cruelty to children, disorderly conduct, simple battery and two counts of obstruction of law enforcement which resulted in harm or injury to the officer.
