Austin Lee Long, 27 of Rome, was arrested this week after he allegedly lied to a pawn shop in order to obtain a gun.

Reports stated that Long lied when he filled out a U.S Department of Justice form at Easy Money Pawn in an attempt to get a firearm he had pawned there. Reports stated that he answered “no” when it asked him if he was the subject to a court order restraining him from harassing, stalking or threatening a partner.

Police stated that Long was served a protective order on June 15th of this year.

The protection order does not expire until June of next year.

Long is charged with false statements and writings.
