Jamarie Tyre Sloman, 21 of Rome, was arrested Monday after an altercation with Floyd County Sheriff Deputies that left one with a broken nose.
Reports stated that when deputies approached Sloman and informed him of an active warrant for his arrest he ran in an effort to prevent his capture. After deputies caught up with Sloman he began to become physical, hitting one of the deputies in the ribs, and another in the nose, breaking it.
Sloman was wanted on a felony theft by taking and probation violation from 2014 when he attempted to steal a car.
Sloman is now charged with two counts of battery, two counts obstruction of law enforcement, two counts of obstruction of an officer and probation violation.
