Stacey Chubbs, 43 of Rome, pleaded guilty this week to stealing $11,000 from the Elm Street Elementary School PTO. Reports stated that Chubbs served as the treasurer of the organization between January 1, 2014 and July 27, 2015. She was arrested after an investigation on September 18, 2015.
As a result of her plea of theft by taking, she was sentenced to 10 years of probation and six months of home confinement. She must also perform 60 hours of community service.
Officials added that Chubbs has already paid the money back to the organization.
