Benjamin Cody Jones, 25 of Rockmart, was arrested this week after being charged with numerous child pornography charges. Reports said that he was arrested on Thursday for 10 counts of sexual exploitation of children-possession or control any material depicting minor in sexually explicit conduct.
Police stated that a witness stated that they saw the images on a cell phone and then proceeded to turn the phone over to police in 2015.
Authorities confirmed that police was unable to unlock the images and the search warrant expired on the phone and as a result the cell phone remained in the evidence room until recently when it was turned over to the GBI.
A second search warrant was obtained and this time authorities were able to unlock the images.
Additional charges are pending.
