Colquitt County head football coach Rush Propst has been suspended for the 2016 season.

Reports said that Propst head butted a player during  the Class AAAAAA state semifinal at Mill Creek last December.

The suspension comes after  a letter from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission informing him that he has been suspended for one year for the incident, apparently for making contact with a student.

Propst has appealed and is continuing to prepare his team for a 2016 season in which the Packers will seek a third-straight championship in the state’s highest classification.

Propst said he could not comment on the case.

The Packers went on to defeat  Roswell 30-13 the following week to take their second straight Class AAAAAA state championship and run their winning streak to 30 straight games.
