Tammy Lavona Towe, 49 of Rome, was arrested this week for lying to police.
Reports said that Towe reported a kidnapping to police in May . After making an arrest, police later discovered that the suspect was not involved.
Towe is charged with felony making false statements, obstruction of law enforcement and probation violation.
