Phillip Hugh Williams, 61 of Rome, was arrested at the Fifth Avenue nursing home Sunday for allegedly assaulting an 83 year-old man.
Reports said that Williams hit the man with a closed fist, while causing injury to the victim.
He was charged with abuse of a disabled or elderly person and simple battery.
