Rome police arrested two people on Wednesday after reports said they left children in a hot car as they fought in the parking lot of AutoZone on Turner McCall Blvd.

Reports said that Jesse David Parks, 28, tired to force Stacie Marie Wright, 28, both of Murrayville, into her vehicle during a physical altercation.  Police said that when they arrived they found three children inside the vehicle, with a heat index of 97 degrees, covered in sweat.

Both Parks and Wright are charged with three felony counts of first-degree cruelty to children, and misdemeanor affray and simple battery.
