Floyd County police said that Jamon Wood, 35 of Rome, was shot and killed in self defense by his father on Friday night. Reports said that the younger Wood had reportedly beaten his father many times in the past and was then engaged in an altercation.
No charges have been filed, but the shooting is still under investigation.
His body has been sent to the GBI Crime Lab.
