Two Rome women were arrested this week after a 2 year-old child was found walking on U.S 27 while it was cold and raining. Reports said that Hope Lynn Torres, 27, left the child in a Cottis Inn motel room with a 4 year-old for about an hour when it was able to get out and walk away.
Torres is charged with second degree cruelty to children (criminal negligence),
Myranda Leigh Smith, 24 of Rome, was also found inside the room and was arrested on a possession of a Schedule II controlled substance charge. Officers allegedly found Tramadol pills on her possession.
