Rockmart police said that distracted driving resulted in 19 year-old Kyla Miranda Millwood, of Rockmart, striking a pedestrian on Elm Street. Reports said that Millwood was traveling west t when her food fell over and when she went to pick it up she left the roadway and hit a woman, Ramie Arp Brown, 39, walking on the sidewalk.
Brown was transported to Polk Medical Center for treatment.
Millwood was charged with failure to maintain lane and driver to use due care.
