Peyton Reeder’s dream is to serve people in the medical field as a doctor some day. The All-Area offensive lineman from the Coosa High Eagles will get to serve his country and pursue his dream to become a physician at Army’s West Point Academy. Reeder, a senior at Coosa High School, signed his letter of intent to attend West Point on National Signing Day, Wednesday, February 4, with family and friends surrounding him at Coosa High.
Peyton is an intense player who works for perfection and strives to be the best that he can be,” commented Todd Wheeler, head coach of the Coosa Eagles. “He does not know the word quit, on or off the field, and this work ethic carries over into the classroom and weight room.” Wheeler added, “Peyton is a joy to coach and I look for greatness from him in the future.”
Reeder was an All-Area offensive line selection in 2014 and 2015, GACA All-State in 2014, Macon Telegraph All-State in 2014, pre-season AA Macon Telegraph All -State, and Macon Telegraph AA All-State offensive guard in 2015. Reeder played in the Metro Atlanta All Star game this year and he was selected to play in the High School International Bowl against Team Canada in Dallas, Texas.
The International Bowl was played in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home to the Dallas Cowboys and one of the largest stadiums in the country. “I was amazed at the size of the stadium standing on the field with him but Peyton did not seem impressed at all,” stated his mother Jenna Reeder. The young Reeder’s unflappability and play in the International Bowl has also given him the opportunity to play in an all-star game in Japan this summer. However, that opportunity may conflict with his reporting date to West Point.
