A North Carolina man, Isaac Rodriguez, 19, was arrested over the weekend after a one vehicle accident sent a  Rome woman to a local hospital with serious injury. Reports said that Rodriguez and 20 year-old Regina Evans was traveling on Callier Springs Road Sunday when he lost control of a car and hit a stone mailbox.

Evans was listed in critical condition early Monday.

Rodriguez was treated and sent to the Floyd County Jail where he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of alcohol by a person under the legal age, failure to maintain a single lane, operating a vehicle with an open container and driving too fast for conditions.
