The Rome-Floyd Metro Drug Taskforce arrested two Romans this week following a search at an apartment on Chateau Drive. Reports said that officers were walking past room 121 at 30 Cheateau Drive when they smelled the marijuana coming from the room. They added that David Jermaine Drew, 43, came to the door and admitted to smoking the drug. Officers then spotted Victoria Reyell Beasley, 34, in the room. Both were detained until the task force arrived. Drew then gave them consent to search the room and during that time they discovered close to 550 grams of marijuana. A search of Beasley’s car also uncovered cocaine and a pill.

Beasley, 34, was arrested and charged with felony possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and the intent to distribute marijuana, as well as misdemeanor possession and use of drug related objects.

Drew is charged with felony possession of marijuana, the intent to distribute, and probation violation, as well as misdemeanor possession and use of drug related objects.
