Keion Damarius Davenport, 28 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he starved a dog to near death at a home on Blueberry Lane.
Police said that they located an emaciated female bulldog tethered in the backyard of the property. The dog was found with no palpable fat, with evidence of other bony prominence. There was also loss of muscle mass.
Reports added that the dog was left with no food or water, and had a voracious appetite w hen offered food.
Police went on to say that when they spoke with the owner, he could not provide reasons for the dog’s condition.
Davenport is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.
