The Calhoun Police Department will be hosting the 2026 North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA) workshop September 14-18, 2026. K-9 teams from Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama will be participating and tested on their ability to locate narcotics in vehicles, buildings and open areas. Explosive detection canines will also be tested on their ability to locate odors of explosives in various environments. All teams participating will be held to a national standard for the certification process working to better serve their communities.
We would like to thank our community partners who have provided resources and locations for training workshops along with the Georgia State Patrol Aviation team for allowing the canines to experience flight operations.
