Robert Louis Hampton, 50 of Taylorsville, was arrested this week after reports said he assaulted a 28 year-old Rome woman.
Reports said that while on Turner McCall Blvd at Cooper Drive, Hampton beat on the victim’s car and then attempted to slap the victim’s phone out of her hand.
Police added that both of these acts placed the victim in reasonable apprehension of violent injury.
Hampton is charged with simple assault.
