Floyd County Commissioners on Tuesday are expected to approve a new single‑season use agreement with Diamond Baseball Holdings (DBH) for AdventHealth Stadium, continuing the partnership that keeps professional baseball in Rome.
The agreement, listed under new business on the Sept. 8 agenda, outlines DBH’s operational use of the county‑owned stadium for the upcoming season. County officials noted that the contract does not require any budget changes, indicating that financial terms remain consistent with previous arrangements.
DBH, which owns and operates the Rome Emperors, manages game‑day operations, staffing, maintenance responsibilities, and community programming tied to the stadium. The annual agreement ensures the team’s continued access to the facility while preserving the county’s oversight of capital improvements and long‑term infrastructure needs.
AdventHealth Stadium has been home to Rome’s minor league franchise since 2003, and DBH took ownership of the club in 2021 as part of a nationwide acquisition of several minor league teams. The company has since invested in branding, fan experience upgrades, and expanded community events.
County leaders have emphasized the economic and cultural value of maintaining professional baseball in Floyd County, citing tourism, local spending, and youth engagement as key benefits.
Commissioners are expected to vote on the agreement during the regular meeting at 6 p.m. in Suite 206 of the Floyd County Administration Building.
