A Rome woman was arrested this week after police said she attempted to destroy evidence while officers were executing a search warrant at a residence on Copeland Street. According to arrest reports, Tierra Jade Slocum, 38, of Rome, was taken into custody after officers served a search warrant at 22 Copeland Street.
Police said Slocum failed to comply with officers’ commands and allegedly attempted to destroy evidence by flushing suspected drugs down a bathroom toilet. Reports also state that she ingested suspected narcotics by mouth during the execution of the warrant.
Following a search of the residence, officers reportedly recovered methamphetamine, digital scales, and drug-smoking devices.
Slocum was charged with tampering with evidence, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug-related objects, and obstruction.
The allegations contained in arrest reports have not been proven in court, and Slocum is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
