Annie Luz Gonzalez, 52 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she stole $10,000 in cash from a woman back in April.
Police said that Gonzalez, in concert with others, obtained the cash by deceitful means. Police went on to say that the victim was contracted by a subject who claimed to be investigating bank scams and requested they withdrew the funds in cash from her account. The victim was then cohered to provide the money to Gonzalez.
Gonzalez is charged with felony theft by deception.
