Ronnie Lamar Walraven, 49 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he intentionally starved his dog “Sandwich”.
Police said that they found “Sandwich” seriously disfigured and with a rating of 1 out of 9 on the Purina Body Conditioning Scale. Reports stated that the animal was found with its ribs, lumbar, vertebrae, pelvic bones all seen from a distance. Police added that there was no discernible body fat on the dog along with it showing a loss of muscle mass.
Officers added that “Sandwich” had a voracious appetite when offered food. The animal was found at home on Dodd Blvd.
Walraven is charged with felony aggravated cruelty to animals.
