Amanda Ellino Moore, 48 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she allowed her 10 year-old daughter to live in deplorable and unlivable conditions.

Police said that a visit to the home on North Broad Street resulted in officers finding the child’s room covered in trash, toys, dirty clothing, old food, broken furniture, a bed with a torn mattress that was stained with black and brown, holes in the walls, and an unknown substance over the walls.

Police added that the flooring throughout the home was covered in a brown, grimy substance, as were the kitchen counters, cabinets and doors.  There was also animal feces throughout the home, and it smelled of ammonia and filth.

Moore is charged with first degree cruelty to children.
