AdventHealth is pleased to welcome Benjamin Shin, DO, to AdventHealth Medical Group Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at Calhoun. Dr. Shin joined the care team on Aug. 24, expanding access to personalized sports medicine and orthopedic care for children, adolescents, adults and older adults across Northwest Georgia.
Dr. Shin is a board-certified sports medicine physician dedicated to helping patients of all ages stay active through individualized care for musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. He believes in listening to each patient and working collaboratively to develop treatment plans that relieve pain, restore function and improve quality of life while helping patients avoid surgery whenever possible.
Dr. Shin earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine at Seton Hill in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He completed his family medicine residency at the Texas Institute for Graduate Medical Education and Research in San Antonio, Texas, followed by a sports medicine fellowship at Northside Sports Medicine in Atlanta. He works closely with orthopedic surgeons to ensure patients who require surgical intervention receive seamless, coordinated care.
